| dc.description.abstract | Institute of Marine Research has analysed hydrocarbons (PAH and THC) in sediment cores from 6 locations in MAREANO area, sampled in Nordland VI and off the northern coast of Finnmark in 2011. Low levels of hydrocarbons are found in surface sediments at all the locations, corresponding to KLIF classes I for PAH16, with an increase in combustion-related PAH in modern sediment layers at some locations. Sedimentological data and radiodating results from a selection of these sediment cores will be further obtained and reported in 2013. Measurements of brominated flame retardants (BFR) of PBDE type were also done in surface sediment samples from 76 locations from the whole MAREANO area, collected between 2006 and 2011. The levels of BFR in all samples were low and corresponded to background levels for these compounds. | no_NO |
