The observed presence of farmed fish on the spawning grounds is not enough to conclude that there is any interaction between farmed and wild cod. The evaluation must be based on genetic analysis of larvae sampled in the vicinity of the spawning grounds an regular monitoring of the individuals present within the system. This report evaluates the use of genetic methods in such monitoring programmes.no_NO
