This report discribes the results from a stratified bottom
trawl survey with R/V "Michael Sars" in April - May 1984 in the
Barents Sea between 71°30'N - 76°00'N and between 16°30'e
35°30 'E. The report also decribes the results from a survey
with the same vessel in the Svalbard region between 74°00'N -
80°30'N and between 08°00'E - 18°00'E in July - August 1984.
On the basis of the data from 116 trawl stations, the biomass
of the shrimp, Pandalus borealis in the Barents Sea survey was
estimated to be about 420 000 tonnes. In the Spitsbergen area
the biomass of the shrimp was estimated to be about 54 000
tonnes, based on data from 77 trawl station, by-catch data for
fish are also given.
