Primary growth increments are laid down in the otoliths of cod larvae living in a habitat where the light intensity is above the light threshold for visual feeding during 24 hours, and in which the larvae were observed to have captured prey organisms both day and night. As a rule one increment is laid down daily in the otoliths of first feeding cod larvae from day 4 to day 12 post hatching.no_NO
