0-group saithe and herring off the Norwegian coast in 1986 and 1987 [HELP 9]

Abstract

In 1985 investigations were started to try to measure the abundance of 0-group saithe before the main concentrations entered the inshore waters. In 1986 the investigation area were expanded to also cover the eastern part of the northern North Sea. This report gives some results from the cruises in April-May 1986 and April-May 1987. The results indicate that the end of April is too late to get a good measurement of the 0-group from the North Sea. For the northern stock the chosen time seem to be all right.
