| dc.description.abstract | Norsk: I løpet av de siste 30 år har det foregått en utstrakt kartlegging og verdifastsetting av naturområder på land i Norge. Ute i sjøen derimot, mangler det tilsvarende stedsspesifikk kunnskap om hvor de biologiske verdiene og verdifulle områdene finnes. I ”Tvedestrandprosjektet" har Havforskningsinstituttet sammen med andre forskningsinstitusjoner, kartlagt og kartfestet viktige biologiske naturverdier ute i sjøen i kystsonen for Tvedestrand kommune. Prosjektets hovedtanke har vært: Hvis vi kan synliggjøre marine naturverdier i kystsonen i et geografisk informasjonssystem, vil man kunne ta hensyn til naturgrunnlaget i forkant og mange konflikter kunne avklares alt i planfasen. English: Planning and management of terrestrial areas has for many years been supported by detailed and extensive data. In contrast, knowledge of natural marine habitats and their values is still poor. This lack of basic knowledge about how and where marine biological values are distributed makes it also difficult for the respective municipalities delineating Skagerrak, to plan use of the coastal zone. In this report, IMR-Flødevigen together with other national research institutions, gives results from a project, directly aiming to map the distribution of marine habitats and their inhabitants (both plants and animals). This information is currently implemented within a GIS database for use within each local municipality. From this GIS database, it is possible to display the important biological "assets” such as habitat types, quality and distribution of underwater vegetation and spawning areas for different species of fish. | en |
